What to remember

How to Trade

Miss Fortune holds a significant trading advantage over Ezreal in lane due to her ability to punish his predictable patterns. Your Love Tap passive is the key to winning trades - always auto-attack Ezreal, then switch to a minion or his support, then back to Ezreal to maximize passive damage. When Ezreal steps up to Q (Mystic Shot) a minion or poke you, immediately respond with Double Up (Q) bounced off a dying minion for massive damage he cannot trade back effectively. Ezreal's Arcane Shift (E) has a 28-second cooldown at rank 1, while your Strut (W) attack speed steroid is available much more frequently. After he uses E aggressively or defensively, you have a large window to run him down with W active and Love Tap procs. Position aggressively when his E is down - he has no escape and your raw DPS will overwhelm him. Keep minions between you to block his Q poke, but don't be afraid to step up and trade autos since your base damage and passive outscale his. Ezreal wants short Q-poke trades; deny him this by immediately retaliating with Double Up whenever he commits to last-hitting.

Wave Management

Slow push into Ezreal whenever possible. Miss Fortune's Double Up and Love Tap allow you to build massive waves efficiently, and Ezreal struggles to contest you under his tower without burning mana on his abilities. A three-wave crash around level 3-4 gives you tempo to ward, recall for a Long Sword, or threaten a dive with your support. Avoid letting Ezreal freeze near his tower - his safe farming with Mystic Shot and Trueshot Barrage waveclear makes him difficult to punish in these situations. If he attempts a freeze, use Make It Rain (E) to break it and force the wave to push. The slow also zones him off CS. Be mindful that your E does push the wave, so use it strategically rather than spamming it for poke.

Itemization

The armor penetration and movement speed active synergize perfectly with your kit for running down Ezreal when his E is on cooldown. Start Long Sword + 3 pots to accelerate your Dirk spike, which hits much harder than Ezreal's Tear + Sheen components. Consider Hubris as a second item if you're snowballing, as the AD stacking from kills amplifies your ultimate damage significantly. Bloodthirster third provides sustain that Ezreal cannot match until very late game. Against teams where Ezreal builds tanky (Iceborn Gauntlet variants), consider adding Lord Dominik's Regards earlier than usual.

Team Fighting

Your Bullet Time (R) is the primary teamfight win condition in this matchup. Ezreal lacks the hard CC to interrupt your channel, and his Arcane Shift only saves himself - he cannot peel for his team. Position to catch multiple enemies including Ezreal in your ultimate, ideally after your team lands CC. Ezreal's teamfight pattern involves poking from range and cleaning up with Trueshot Barrage. Counter this by forcing engages rather than letting fights become poke wars. Your Make It Rain slow combined with Bullet Time in chokepoints (dragon pit, baron, jungle corridors) creates kill zones Ezreal cannot safely navigate. MF averages higher damage to structures (17,282 vs 15,507), indicating your teamfight wins should translate to objective control.

Pro Tips

  • Track Ezreal's Arcane Shift cooldown religiously - when it's down, ping your support for an all-in. Your kill pressure without his escape is enormous, especially with Strut active.
  • Use Double Up's bounce to hit Ezreal when he hides behind minions.
  • Save Make It Rain for when Ezreal commits to a fight or tries to escape - the slow prevents him from kiting you effectively and guarantees more Love Tap procs during trades.

Common Mistakes

  • Standing still to auto-attack and getting hit by free Mystic Shots. Always weave movement between autos to make his skillshots harder to land while your point-and-click damage remains consistent.
  • Using Bullet Time when Ezreal has Arcane Shift available - he'll simply blink out of the channel. Wait for him to use E before committing your ultimate in skirmishes.
  • Pushing without vision and getting ganked. MF has no mobility, and while you win the 2v2, Ezreal's safe farming means junglers often camp for him. Ward river and track the enemy jungler before playing aggressively.
