What to remember

How to Trade

This matchup heavily favors Miss Fortune in short trades due to her Double Up (Q) bounce damage and Love Tap passive, which punishes Ashe for standing near low-health minions. Ashe's Volley (W) has a longer cooldown than MF's Q early, so if you waste it, MF can punish aggressively. The key interaction is that any damage you take from MF removes her Strut (W) passive movement speed, so landing Volley poke is essential to keep her from running you down. Ashe wins extended trades once she has Ranger's Focus (Q) fully stacked, as her DPS with the empowered attacks and Frost Shot slow can outpace MF if MF doesn't have her abilities up. However, MF's Make It Rain (E) slow combined with her attack speed steroid makes it dangerous to commit to all-ins. Position perpendicular to the wave, not behind it. Your goal is to survive lane phase and outscale through utility - your Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) provides engage that MF lacks, making you more valuable in coordinated teamfights despite the gold disadvantage.

Wave Management

Freeze the wave near your tower whenever possible. Miss Fortune excels at pushing with Make It Rain (E) and Double Up bounces, but she becomes extremely vulnerable to ganks when extended. Your Volley can help you farm from range when the wave is in a dangerous position, but avoid using it to push as this plays into MF's strengths. When MF uses Make It Rain to push or poke, she's spent 80+ mana and her primary zoning tool. This is your window to walk up and contest CS. Be aware that MF players often look to crash waves and recall for early Serrated Dirk, which spikes her kill pressure significantly. If she bases with 1100g, respect the Dirk powerspike - her Double Up bounce can nearly one-shot you. Use Hawkshot (E) to track the enemy jungler when the wave is pushing toward you. MF's lack of mobility makes her a poor roamer, so if you maintain vision and don't give her kill gold, you can neutralize much of her lane dominance through safe farming.

Itemization

Rush Berserker's Greaves and Noonquiver components to match MF's early damage. Core build: Yun Tal Wildarrows into Phantom Dancer. Yun Tal's bleed passive helps you trade more effectively in short exchanges where MF typically dominates. Consider taking Barrier over Heal as your summoner spell - MF's Bullet Time (R) is telegraphed enough that a well-timed Barrier can negate a significant portion of its damage, whereas Heal's reduced effectiveness from Grievous Wounds (which MF often builds via Mortal Reminder) makes it less valuable. If MF rushes lethality (Youmuu's Ghostblade), you may need to build Phantom Dancer second for the survivability. Bloodthirster is essential as a third or fourth item to sustain through MF's poke and survive her ultimate. Guardian Angel is a strong late-game option since MF will prioritize you in teamfights with Bullet Time.

Team Fighting

Your primary advantage in teamfights is Enchanted Crystal Arrow's cross-map engage potential - something Miss Fortune completely lacks. Look to initiate fights before MF can position for her Bullet Time. If you can arrow a priority target and force a fight on your terms, you negate MF's biggest strength. Never group in chokepoints where Bullet Time can hit multiple targets. Your team should spread out, and you should position to the side of fights where you can kite and apply Frost Shot slows to enemies trying to reach your backline. MF wants fights in corridors around dragon and baron - use Hawkshot to gain vision control and force fights in open areas. If MF channels Bullet Time, you have two options: Flash to the side to avoid the cone, or use your slows to help your team collapse on her since she's stationary and vulnerable. Your perma-slow from Frost Shot is invaluable for peeling assassins off your team while MF offers no such utility.

Pro Tips

  • Track MF's Love Tap passive - she deals bonus damage when switching targets. If she autos a minion then immediately autos you, she gets bonus damage. Stay out of auto range when she's last-hitting.
  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow can interrupt Bullet Time channel. Save your R for when MF commits to her ultimate in teamfights rather than using it as engage when she's nearby.
  • MF's Strut gives her massive movement speed when not taking damage. Landing even a single Volley arrow removes this, making her much easier to gank. Poke her before your jungler arrives.

Common Mistakes

  • Standing behind low-health minions and eating Double Up bounces for 300+ damage. Position to the side of the wave, never directly behind dying minions.
  • Using Volley to push the wave, then having no trading tool when MF walks up with Double Up and Love Tap. Save Volley for trading or use it only when MF's Q is on cooldown.
  • Trying to all-in MF at level 6 without accounting for Bullet Time damage. Her ultimate deals massive damage if you're slowed by Make It Rain and can't sidestep - respect her kill pressure post-6.
